RZSS are pleased to announce the winners of the 2010 Biodiversity Art Award. In the 2010 International Year of Biodiversity, we identified China as particular interest and importance, given the size and diversity of the country, its habitats, people and the wealth of species found there. We invited S3 to S6 art students from across Scotland to draw Chinese animals.

The winning drawing is a Chinese water dragon, by Shannon Donnelly Brown from Greenwood Academy, Ayrshire.

Shannon also entered an excellent drawing of a giant panda, which we hope to use in some of our interpretation and school resources when the pandas arrive at Edinburgh Zoo.

Second place is a Chinese alligator, by Carl Macpherson from Belmont House School, Glasgow.

Third place is a Bamboo partridge, by Ho Yi Tsang also from Belmont House School, Glasgow.

A huge thank you to all the pupils who entered their excellent drawings. Some of which we hope to use for our interpretation and resources.
